I don’t think you want to be neurotic.
However, there’s nothing wrong with crazy.

I was recently told I was not “anal retentive enough” to be an oboist.

The fact that Lief Mosbaugh is a great oboist dispels any notions that one has to be neurotic or anal retentive to play oboe…
