A smidgen of trivia. Liz Gorski, principal viola of the New York Philharmonic, composes crossword puzzles for the New York Times. They are all excellent & of course always contain a musical reference or two.

I was incorrect in my above post. I checked the personnel roster of the NY Phil. Ms. Gorski is not listed. She has played with the orchestra in the past however, perhaps as a substitute or as a member of the section. She was never the principal.
