Don’t forget to practice your Rimsky-Korsakov. Those driving 16th notes will only come with lots of splendid secret-is-in-slow practice sessions. Then if you get tired of him, there is always Moncayo’s Huapango lurking around the corner with the 6-fers, 3-fers & 2-fers for excitement. Oh, & I should also mention the Bachanale by Saint-Saens. All rich stuff & worth perfecting. As Martin Schuring & Jane Orzel say, practice until it is impossible to make a mistake. By that time you’ll have it all memorized & wonder why it seemed so difficult in the first place.
