Moy is back! …and ranting.
Yep. I’m back. I promise! I have comics… and I finally coloured one!! That’s right! Ren’s shirt isn’t grey or black. It’s green. XKCD will just have to get over it. =D She will wear black for occasions, just for them.
So Moy! Why did you fall off the face of Obohemia?
Because. I don’t have a scanner, so I have to give them to Ren.
But… it’s October…
Yeah, I love October, too! I’m gonna be a pirate for halloween!! …not a ninja. *off topic a bit*
=D
So I am getting sick and tired of hearing this all over the place. I stopped listening to the radio so I can get away… but a certain employee last night (actually 2 of them) decided to play this.
I have a pet peeve when people will listen to a classical piece, but only the opening. Sometimes not even the entire opening, just the first two sentences. So this is what I’m hearing… the opening to a beautiful piano piece and when the intro is done, it repeats itself. Great. Techno? No. RAP. I’m not saying that Rap isn’t music, but they sure like to butcher classics like no other. I’m hearing it all the time now. Why? WHY? The text has nothing to do with anything, they just want a pre-composed “classy” sound underneath them so they don’t have to compose it. It’s so easy to put something on loop, you know.
It’s things like this that make people so impatient. They start to lack cultural knowledge and they only know what the media craps out into Canada. People can be so ignorant that they won’t investigate in a sound they like that some Rapper “borrowed”. They will hear that opening some day in a tv commercial and say “Hey! I know that! That Rapper did that!” but then they will hear it being continued (if we’re lucky) and just be confused waiting for the “beat” to come in. I’m not mad at the rappers as much as I am PISSED at the audience for being so ignorant.
Now, I agree with Ren that it is good to have it out there, because for some people, it’s all they really get. But I would settle if the original composers got more credit. For example: “50 Cent, featuring Vivaldi”
Anyways, sexy sexy Micheal Shanks calls me. (Daniel Jackson) Must go!

John: I do like the British version, but I just love the guy that plays Jim in the American one. He’s too funny…
Peter: I’m not saying Rappers are stupid, I’m saying that the AUDIENCE is getting impatient and lazy.
